Repertório N.2
Dance
With Repertório N.2, Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira continue their choreographic exploration of dance as a practice of self-defence. Created in 2021 during the pandemic at Les Urbaines in Lausanne, the piece pushes even further the tension already running through the trilogy’s first chapter. As the audience enters the space, the two performers are already in motion, walking relentlessly, frenetically, their bodies sliding alongside one another without ever truly touching. Spectators must then find their place, settle around them, and enter into their rhythm.
At the heart of Repertório N.2 lies the gaze. Pontes and Ferreira stare directly at the audience with unsettling intensity, both challenging and implicating them. The roles reverse: those who watch become watched in return. As in the first chapter, the performers occasionally freeze into poses inspired by voguing. But here, stillness is never passive. Like an archer poised before release, it gathers a latent force ready to erupt. Beneath every pose lingers the possibility of impact.
