A strange and joyful community comes to life before our eyes. With Such a Devoted Bunch, Ruth Childs and Cécile Bouffard immerse us in a collective ritual where bodies, objects and sculptures seem animated by the same fervour. Three dancers move through a living installation of suspended forms, tactile materials, tiny details and gestures that drift between humour, trance and poetry. Here, gatherings become fantastical ceremonies.

Blending popular folklore, fairground imagery and immersive soundscapes, Such a Devoted Bunch creates a space where audiences are invited to look closely at what binds us together, in a collective experience that is strange, yet playful and deeply human.

Since meeting in 2019, Ruth Childs and Cécile Bouffard have developed a singular dialogue that blends choreography with sculpture and performance, first initiated with delicate people in 2021 and continued here in this new collective creation. A key figure on Geneva’s contemporary scene, Ruth Childs shares a long-standing relationship with La Bâtie, which has supported her work since her first appearance at the Festival in 2016.
