What if our desires no longer truly belonged to us? Drawing from the work of British philosopher Mark Fisher, Bastien Semenzato imagines a hybrid performance where critical thought, club culture and rap energy collide head-on. The Geneva-based director and performer joins forces with rapper La Gale and electronic musician Léo Besso (Psycho Weazel, Baby Volcano) to channel Fisher’s texts through a format somewhere between concert, rap-infused stand-up, MDMA-fuelled academic seminar and electronic night out.

Projected, chanted, sung and distorted, the writings of the author of Capitalist Realism and Postcapitalist Desire become the living material of this new creation. Deeply moved by these texts, Semenzato draws from them a luminous emotional force: the possibility of a new collective horizon. This delightfully Deleuzian piece is conceived as a call to action and a form of resistance against contemporary resignation – an invitation to reinvent, together, the ways we desire.
